LONGSPRING SPORT HORSES Birthplace of Champions The stud was founded in 1982 with the importation of the fully licensed Hanoverian stallion DISTELFINK from Germany. His first foals were the start of many offspring proving themselves at top level including internationally. Distelfink died at the age of 26 but his sons and daughters are carrying on the tradition and providing New Zealand with some of its best horses. BLOODLINES LARINO, a Grand Prix showjumper in his own right, is a son of the sports horse producer of the 21st century, Olympic CONCORDE. Concorde already has a great number of children that perform at international level. Larino has in his pedigree four famous and successful showjumper producers. Larino's dam Erina is a daughter of the famous Ramiro offspring, Armstrong. In the report the KWPN judge made, she is described as a very nice mare with a lot of expression. The stallion Larino is out of a lineage that produced many sports horses in the mother line. Bred by Arend Florijn of Geesteren, the Concorde son was out of the preferent broodmare Erina (Armstrong out of Warina ster pref prest by Ridder), whose grandson is the KWPN stallion Zürich . Originally named Lancelot, Larino was approved for KWPN breeding as a four-year-old. At Ermelo during the 70-day Performance Test, Larino was described by the jury as a stallion who jumps with a very good foreleg technique and a very good use of the back. Larino shows a lot of scope and has a superb canter. Under Peter Geerink, the gray stallion became a successful Grand Prix jumper. In the fall of 2001, Larino made his Grand Prix debut and placed second in The Hague, finished second and third in Valkenswaard, and posted a fantastic clear round in the team competition at Rotterdam, in addition to tying for sixth place in the Grand Prix. Furthermore, Larino ended sixth in the Dutch Championships in Mierlo, the youngest horse to show at that venue. The stallion's other achievements include finishing fourth in the Grand Prix of Hickstead, fifth in the Grand Prix of Bremen and first in the team competition. Dutch Auction Sale Something new ... This year we are offering just about our whole collection of young stock for sale - a total of 40+ horses from foals to 7 year olds. We are running in a Dutch Auction format where starting at $50,000 + gst you can have your pick of what is on offer. After the first week, we will drop the price level twice a week by $2,000 and take out 1 or 2 that we would prefer to keep. So you have to decide when to come in and if you wait, will you miss out? Just so you appreciate - we don't have a rider in the family (but we working on the grandchildren riding!) so we are not in the business of "keeping our best and selling the rest" . All horses we have for sale are quality. Our offer to you is to take a good look at what is on offer knowing there are some real superstars in the bunch. Your pick! Starting at $50,000 + gst for a first pick of what is on offer in the foals to 8 year olds and including the two stallion prospects - Nashville LS (by Numero Uno) and Cantabrian LS (by Crusader LS). Both young stallions are broken in and ready to ride although Cantabrian LS has not been in work for over a year. First in with the money gets the horse and we will back it up with a soundness guarantee. Twice a week after the first week, we will drop the price by $2,000 for a next round of picks and take our picks off the list if they don't make their minimum. We are more than happy to keep several fillies for the future - but we are trying to be fair and say all are up for sale at a price. Even our top bloodlines!
