2015 Bay Stallion by CRUSADER LS

 

CANTABRIAN LS has been kept as a stallion as the last of one of our most successful lines through DISTELETTE LS by DISTELFINK. He is himself an extremely talented jumper with a great attitude and calmness. He has a beautiful face and eye too. CANTABRIAN LS has been kept a colt because of his phenomenal jumping   and pedigree. He will be available for service starting in the 2025 season.

BLOODLINES

This young horse is sure to make his name in showjumping or eventing with his bloodlines and is in the first in the crop for CRUSADER LS. His sire CRUSADER LS is by EUROSPORT CENTAVOS, licensed Hanoverian and Warmblood sire and winner of the NZ Horse of the Year title; and then out of a mare that competed herself to 1.30m Young Rider classes as "Girl Power". She is by Brilliant Invader who was the sire of NZ's famous eventer Ready Teddy (gold medal at the WEG). BRILLIANT INVADER was also the dam sire of the phenomenal mare Delphi with rider Katie McVean. She was out of the Grand Prix Showjumper FLOWER POWER with many GP wins under her belt ridden by Jeff McVean. Flower Power is the dam of the phenomenal mare DELPHI with Katie McVean.

 

TIGERLETTE LS was the last foal of DISTELETTE LS who was Longspring's first Distelfink foal and represents one of the studs top families.  Distelette LS by Distelfink was a full sister to Denver LS who was a top jumper and eventer who won over $25,000 with Catriona McLeod. He was on the NZ Eventing team to   Australia in 1994 and won the Wandin Park ODE and was 2nd in the Werribee International 3DE***, and had 3 placings in NZ's CCI   *** events. Denver was shortlisted for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and ranked in the top 30 of the Worlds top event horses in the  World Breeding Championships at the time. Another full brother DEALER LS won the Horse of the Year Speed Championship title with rider Anna Stephen and two other full brothers DAKOTA LS and DALLAS COWBOY LS sold overseas as jumpers for very good money.

 

TIGER MOTH LS represents LONGSPRING'S top bloodlines through SUPER MOTH who with John Cottle won 75 SJ classes, 44 at Grand Prix level. TIGER MOTH is out of a full sister to SUPER MOTH.

 

Best known of the TIGER MOTH LS progeny is the superb jumping mare MADAME COCO who is competing at World Cup level with rider Dani Maurer, TIGER TALE LS a pony who won many classes and was 2nd in the Pony of the Year title class and TOWNSHEND LS sold to Australia as an eventer. Other progeny include TIGER WOODS LS, TIGER EYES LS and ???
