Suzie Q LS

Suzie Q (by Sunset Sam LS out of Blossom xx by Kyeoi Blossom) is one from the first crop of foals by SUNSET SAM LS and like her sire shows a tremendous jump and powerful movement. Her mother is a thoroughbred mare by KYEOI BLOSSOM who was a full sister to the top racehorse and eventing sire WESTMINSTER. Her female line also goes back to IN THE PURPLE  a known producer of quality horses both on the racetrack and in equestrian sport.

She has excellent conformation and legs. She moves well and with good rhythm and paces.  Her loose jumping style as you can see on the web video is explosive. She is quick and tidy in her front legs and has a good lift over the jump with her hind legs. She has been under saddle but not out at a show yet.

This is a mare that we feel could go far in eventing. She always seems happy in her work and ready to oblige the rider. And what a pedigree for a broodmare in the years to come! She is a really easy mare and would suit someone coming off ponies.

Sire

SUNSET SAM LS has a double cross back to DISTELFINK his sire SAM I AM - a full brother to the top jumper DIOMEDES LS now in Australia. DIOMEDES with rider Phillip Steiner was 1st in 8 classes and placed in another 33 for winnings of close to $15,000. Another full brother to SAM I AM is competing at top level in jumpers in the USA as DEVLIN LS. SUNSET SAM himself was an impressive strong type with excellent jumping technique that he passes on to his progeny oldest crop are from 2005. Sunset Sam sadly had to be put down this season.

Dam

BLOSSOM is an attractive bay thoroughbred mare that was bought as a broodmare. She was loose jumped to make sure she was suitable and she was a “WOW” jumper. Her sire Kyoei Bloosom is a full brother to the legendary eventing sire WESTMINSTER and of course goes back to GROSVENOR who has many progeny now eventing at top level as does WESTMINSTER.

Also in this pedigree is the valuable IN THE PURPLE bloodline that produced many top jumpers – eg UPS AND DOWNS with John Cottle and eventers including HOFFMAN with Lynn King.
